Applying the Alfa Laval Contherm
The Alfa Laval Contherm scraped surface heat exchanger (SSHE) handles any viscous, sticky and/or heat-sensitive process fluids as long as they are pumpable. This heat exchanger is widely used within the food and personal care industries.
The Contherm is available in different versions. It can handle products with low to extremely high viscosities or those containing particulates as well as special application and process requirements, such as evaporation.
The working temperature ranges from -35 °C to 170 °C. This heat exchanger can be ordered with various connections and comes standard in stainless steel 316L. Because there are different configurations possible, such as a carbon flushed seal is also available in aseptic way.
