Wide range of heat exchangers
SKS offers a wide range of heat exchangers for hygienic applications within the food and pharma industry. Thanks to our extensive experience, advanced selection software and a large database with previously completed projects, our in house specialists can quickly determine the right heat exchanger for your process.
Type of heat exchangers
Gasketed plate heat exchanger
Gasketed plate heat exchanger
Gasketed plate heat exchangers are indispensable in processes where heat is transferred between liquid and or gas flows. These exchangers consist of assembled metal plates with a gasket in between to ensure sealing. This makes the exchangers highly adaptable, easy to configure and simple to maintain. For every type of product or application, suitable plate and gasket materials can be selected. With options for PED and ASME pressure classification, special designs for industrial and hygienic applications with strict requirements, and possibilities for multiple section exchangers, a suitable plate heat exchanger can be selected for every process.
Brazed heat exchanger
Brazed plate heat exchangers are composed of copper brazed stainless steel plates. These exchangers have excellent self cleaning properties, which means minimal maintenance is required. Due to their compact footprint, installation is relatively easy, with options for floor or wall brackets. Ideal for HVAC or utility applications where efficient heat transfer in a compact design is required. Resistant to high pressures and temperatures. This makes these exchangers highly versatile and suitable for both heating and cooling of liquid and or gas flows, as well as for evaporation and condensation.
Fusion bonded heat exchanger
In contrast to brazed plate heat exchangers, fusion bonded heat exchangers are fully made of stainless steel. This makes them resistant to even higher pressures, temperatures and aggressive substances. These exchangers require no maintenance and have a long service life. Ideal for HVAC or utility applications where efficient heat transfer in a compact design is required.
Tubular heat exchanger
Tubular heat exchanger
A shell and tube heat exchanger consists of a shell and a bundle of tubes. The service fluid flows around the tubes and the product typically flows inside the tubes, enabling heat transfer between the product and the medium. The heat transfer rate depends on the configuration, the temperature difference, the tube size, the flow turbulence and the flow velocity.
Scraped surface heat exchanger
Scraped surface heat exchangers are essential in the food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries for processes where products would clog in plate or tube exchangers. They are particularly effective when handling viscous, sticky products, products containing particles or products that require crystallisation. Due to these capabilities, scraped surface exchangers are especially suitable for processing a wide range of pumpable food products.
