Maximum safety and continuity in hygienic processes with mixproof shut-off valves

A mixproof shut-off valve, also known as a double seat valve, is a shut-off valve which is closed by default, and operated with compressed air. The shut-off valve offers maximum safety and continuity in hygienic processes. Two independently switched plugs make it possible to keep streams of liquids apart and prevent cross-contamination. At the same time, a leak chamber under atmospheric pressure ensures that the product flows through the bottom outlet in the event of a leak. This guarantees a safe, efficient and hygienic treatment without cross-contamination.

Considerable space-saving

One mixproof shut-off valve can process two streams of liquid. This results in a considerable amount of space being saved in the processes. Consequently, one mixproof shut-off valve can replace two or even three ‘traditional’ shut-off valves with a single seat.

Alfa Laval ThinkTop

The Alfa Laval ThinkTop V70 is a sensing and control unit for hygienic valves. This compact product can be fitted with three solenoid valves and offers unparalleled control of all Alfa Laval shut-off valves that are used in the food and pharmaceutical industries. Use a mixproof shut-off valve in combination with the Alfa Laval ThinkTop control unit with Burst Clean functionality for super fast cleaning, using up to 90% less CIP liquids.

Find out how much you can save

Our sales engineers are happy to establish with you what would be the right valve for your application. Thanks to their vast knowledge and the scope of the delivery programme, they always take an independent view. They can also calculate for you how much you can save on CIP liquid. Download one of our reports to get an idea of the possibilities, in this case a reduction of CIP consumption of 2.273.250 litres per year. These optimisations are possible not only with matrices yet to be built, but also with your current valves.
