LKH UltraPure pump

The Alfa Laval LKH UltraPure is an EHEDG certified pharmaceutical centrifugal pump designed for high purity and hygienic processes. Thanks to an optimised inlet geometry and an advanced impeller design, a free product flow is achieved with a very low Net Positive Suction Head and high hydraulic efficiency. This makes the LKH UltraPure particularly suitable for demanding applications where product safety and process reliability are essential.

The pump is fully suitable for Cleaning in Place and supports capacities of up to 500 m³ per hour at pressures up to 190 metres, which corresponds to 19 bar. This means the LKH UltraPure delivers excellent performance in environments where continuity and hygiene are key.

Applications

The LKH UltraPure centrifugal pump is used in hygienic and high purity processes within, among others, the pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology and other sectors where strict requirements apply in the field of contamination control and reproducibility.

The semi open impeller design of the LKH UltraPure ensures a low required Net Positive Suction Head and helps to prevent cavitation. The balance holes in the impeller promote circulation of the process medium around the shaft seal, reducing axial forces and limiting wear on the seal and motor bearings. The high flow within the pump, particularly behind the impeller, simplifies cleaning and improves lubrication and cooling of the seal, significantly extending service life.
