EN 1092-1

For industrial tubes, the most applied connection is with flanges. A lot off equipment is provided with a flange connection, with this they can taken out of the tube or system, pressure free. The EN 1092-1 norm is the current norm for flanges and with this it replaces all DIN and ISO norms. What was specified in different norms formerly is now described in 1 norm by different type numbers. The norm EN 1092-1 is linked directly with EN 10217-7 for the tubes and EN 10253-4 for the weld fittings. So it is also linked directly to the PED. (Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC)

Dimension range and material EN 1092-1
Fits on dimension range according ISO 4200 Material according EN 10088-1.

Tolerances and specifications
DIN ISO 2768-1 (tolerances), DIN 2695 (seals), EN 10222 (pre-material), EN 10216 and 10217 (tubes).

Versions and codes
Type 01: Plate flange (formerly DIN 2573 / 2576)
Type 02: Slip on flange (formerly DIN 2641 / 2642)
Type 05: Blind flange (formerly DIN 2527
Type 11: Plate flange (formerly DIN 2632 / 2633 / 2634 / 2635 etc.)

Bolts and nuts (EN 1515-1 and EN 1515-2)
The applied bolts and nuts determine the strength of the connection and have to be chosen based on the applied pressure and material of the flanges.

Gaskets (EN 1514)
There are a lot of different gasket sorts and brand options possible for a flange connection. S.K.S. provides the following gaskets as the standard: CR65 (natural rubber), Uniflon (PTFE base), Novus 34 (heat resistance) and the often applied graphite gaskets.
