Unique DV-ST UltraPure diaphragm valves for hygienic precision applications
The Alfa Laval Unique DV-ST UltraPure diaphragm valves are an excellent choice for applications within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, as well as other hygienically critical processes. Thanks to their compact and lightweight design, these valves are built from a range of modular components, including valve bodies, diaphragms, actuators and handles. This ensures maximum flexibility and allows you to fully tailor the configuration to your specific process requirements.
The Unique DV-ST UltraPure diaphragm valve is available in both pneumatic and manual versions. With pneumatic operation, the valves are controlled by actuators suitable for product pressures up to 10 bar, depending on valve size, the selected diaphragm material such as EPDM, PTFE or EPDM, or TFM or PTFE, and the actuator type. In addition, a wide range of indication and control units is available and easy to install.
With manual operation, the valve is operated via a handle connected to the spindle. This handle is equipped as standard with an over closure protection feature, which extends the service life of the diaphragm. All metal components are made of stainless steel or high quality composite material, depending on the type of handle.
Design and operating principle of the
Unique DV-ST UltraPure valve
The standard Unique DV-ST UltraPure consists of a valve body, diaphragm, and handle or actuator. In the manual version, a simple turn of the lever presses the compressor down onto the diaphragm, forcing it against the weir of the valve body and closing the valve. You can also use a pneumatic actuator to control the valve. The diaphragm actuator regulates the axial movement of the piston, opening or closing the valve depending on the actuator function.
The standard fully stainless steel actuators are available in two versions:
de Unique DV-ST UltraPure Slim (SL) for standard duties and the Unique DV-ST UltraPure High Pressure (HP) for more demanding pressures. Both are available as normally closed, NC, normally open, NO, or air to air activated, A or A valves, as well as in ATEX versions for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
