SKS & Sustainability

SKS embrace and commit to sustainability. It is our promise to our employees, customers and suppliers.
It spurs us on to seek continuous improvement and to cooperate in creating a future that is sustainable for everyone.

Our sustainability strategy

Our sustainability strategy is based on three pillars: People, Environment and Products & Relations.
We are aiming for a balanced approach that promotes positive change not only within our company, but also in the value chain in which we operate.

People

We deeply value the health and safety of our employees, and we invest continuously in their development and growth, both professionally and personally. In 2024 we started with the actual assessment of our employees’ engagement and satisfaction. By stimulating leadership and developing competencies, we are building a strong and resilient organisation.

Environment

Every day, we make an effort to use our resources as efficiently as possible and to take steps towards reducing our CO2 emissions. We do so by choosing renewable energy sources as much as possible and by optimising and organising together with our partners our inbound and outbound transport in a way that we decrease our ecological footprint. In doing so, we contribute to a more sustainable future. Since 2023 we have been measuring our CO2 footprint for scope 1 and 2 and it is our goal to become climate neutral in these areas. That is why we only use energy-saving LED lighting in our premises, we have installed charging points for electric vehicles and our forklift trucks are powered by electricity. At the moment, we are making our fleet greener, investing in solar panels and making the transition to clean green power. Moreover, we are working on a recycling system for packaging materials. In 2023 we also started taking scope 3 into account in the collection of data so as to understand its reach, so that we can add this to our objectives and strategy.

Products & Relations

We are proud of our products, which contribute considerably to a more sustainable production process by reducing the consumption of water and energy and minimising emissions. Being an experienced partner with thorough technical knowledge, we can advise you on efficient solutions, innovations and process components for the continuous improvement of production lines. That is better for the customer and for the world. It is important to us to have a dialogue about sustainability with our customers and suppliers. For that reason, we started developing a customer and supplier survey this year. To measure satisfaction levels, naturally, but most certainly to raise the subject of sustainability as well.

As a sparring partner with extensive technical knowledge and experience, we give advice on efficient solutions, innovations and process components for the constant improvement of production lines.
